Integrating Magento and Shopify
A simple step-by-step guide to connecting Shopify and Magento using pimsimple as middleware. The whole process should take about 10 mins.
Step 1 - Install pimsimple

Go to the Shopify Store and find pimsimple

Click Install

Create a pimsimple account
Create a name, password, provide your email and company name, confirm you want to link your new pimsimple account to Shopify and answer a few questions…
Verify your email address
You will be asked if you want a tour around the system to get familiar with it, it’s up to you if you want to see it but we’d recommend you do!
Data will start transferring between Shopify and pimsimple
Step 2 - Make an integration in Magento

Add new Magento integration
Login to your Magento system as an admin.
Click “System” in the sidebar and then, “Integrations”.
Click “Add New Integration”.
Name it, add an email and password.
Click “API” and choose “All” from Resource Access.
Click Save

Generate keys and secrets
In the list your new integration will be listed as “Inactive”, so click “Activate” to activate it and confirm you’re allowing access to everything by clicking “Allow”.
You’ll be shown 4 elements of the integration like above.
Leave this screen open as you’ll need to copy these values for the next step
Step 3 - Make an integration in pimsimple

Add a new Source
Sources are how pimsimple imports data into the system.
We need to add a new one, so click the Admin (or cog) button in the sidebar and click “Sources” in the side menu.
In the bottom right is a button labelled “New Source”, click that.

Setup the pimsimple integration
You’ll be presented with the Source Wizard which will walk you through the process.
Click Products as the Source Type and then click “Choose Data Location”.
Then click Source Integration and then “Choose Source Integration”.
You won’t have any integrations set up so click New Integration and then “Choose Provider”.
Choose Magento as the source provider and then click “Integration Name”.
Name the integration with whatever you want to call it or leave it as “Magento”.
Copy and paste the URL of the Magento system you’re connecting to. (You can use the full URL, pimsimple will resolve it and remove any extra unneeded bits.)
Then copy and paste the 4 values from the Magento API we created in the previous step into the 4 corresponding boxes.
You will be asked to review the file mapping, but this should all correspond to the normal attributes you have in your Magento system.
Click “Import Schedule”.
You will then get the option to set if you want the import to be a “one off” or repeat, and if it repeats how often.
We would suggest something like “Repeat Hourly”.
Finally you’ll be asked to name this new source.
Click “Start Import” and it will run.

Add a new Destination
Destinations are how pimsimple exports information, so we need to set up a new destination to export data back into Magento.
To do this click Admin (or cog) button in the sidebar and click “Destinations” in the side menu.
Then click “New Destination”. This will start the Destination Wizard.
Follow the steps of the video above, first clicking "Integration" as the type you want.
Then choose your new Magento integration.
Then choose all products.
Confirm the mapping.
Set a schedule (we'd recommend once an hour).
Give the Destination a name and you're good!
